TCNJ Bonner Scholars visit Richmond, VA

Richmond1
On May 21st, 9 second-year Bonner scholars traveled down to Richmond, VA to engage in service, learn about the history of the Civil War, and reflect on the lasting impacts of the war and racism in today’s society. The students served at the Peter Paul Development Center and Boaz and Ruth, two nonprofits serving low-income neighborhoods in Richmond. They also visited the American Civil War Center, the White House of the Confederacy, the Virginia State Capitol Building, the Richmond Black History Museum, and the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities. If you’d like to read about their experiences in the students’ own words, please visit their blog at tcnjbonnerrichmond17.wordpress.com!
