The Streetlight Publishes Winter 2019 Issue

The Streetlight, (formerly known as “The Wall”) is a newspaper with the aim of raising awareness and breaking stereotypes for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Mercer County. Published twice a year, the publication, which received the 2019 Engage Local award from the Center for Cooperative Media, is New Jersey’s only newspaper of its kind. The print edition features articles about local Screen Shot 2019 12 18 At 4.00.27 PMnews and events in and around Trenton, in addition to poetry, artwork, and op-eds by local residents. One of the most popular features of The Streetlight is the Mercer County Resource Guide, which includes a variety of services, shelters, and food banks to assist people experiencing homelessness and/or poverty. Copies of The Streetlight‘s print edition can be picked up at nearly 60 sites throughout the Trenton area. A team of dedicated Bonner Scholars works to research, write articles, design the layout, edit, publish, and distribute this paper.

Paper copies of the Winter 2019 issue can be found throughout the capital region, from Downtown Trenton to Hightstown. You can find The Streetlight at venues such as libraries, soup kitchens, food pantries, hospitals, government offices, and art galleries.
