TCNJ opens satellite offices in downtown Trenton, offers citizenship classes and guest speakers

TRENTON — In an effort to bring community-engaged learning into the community, The College of New Jersey had opened up shop in a new building in the heart of downtown Trenton.

The three-story Trenton Works building, at the corner of South Broad and State streets, offers open spaces for everything from classes, lectures, movie screenings and workspace. Although the college signed a lease with the building owner last fall, events and projects at Trenton Works began in earnest the beginning of this year. Now there is activity at the office three or four nights a week.

“We want to make our programs more accessible to the community,” said Patrick Donohue, the assistant provost of community-engaged learning and partnerships at TCNJ’s Bonner Center.
