I decided to participate in the Bonner Scholars Program because I wanted to engage in meaningful community service and make a positive impact. Growing up around Bonners during elementary and middle school inspired me to seek out opportunities that emphasize social justice.
One of my favorite aspects of being part of the Bonner Scholars Program is the friendships I've made along the way. These friendships have not only provided support and encouragement but have also enriched my college experience. Sharing experiences, challenges, and successes with others who are passionate about making a difference has created lasting bonds that I truly cherish.
My advice is to embrace the experience fully and get involved in community service projects. Build connections with fellow Bonners, as they can provide support and insight. Take time to reflect on your impact and stay committed to the program's mission, even when challenges arise. Don’t forget to seek mentorship from those who have been through the program, and most importantly, enjoy the journey of making a difference and building friendships along the way!
